Demineralisation

Most water contains impurities in the form of inorganic salts, often referred to as Total Dissolved Solids (TDS). These dissolved salts exist in an ionic state as Cations (positively charged) or Anions (negatively charged).

Demineralisation or Deionisation is a process by which these ions are exchanged using a selective media known as resin. The process can either be carried out in two stages or more commonly in one stage using a “mixed bed” of resins. Typical Applications include: process water, manufacturing, food & beverage preparation, laboratory water, high-pressure boiler pre-treatment.
